BLED CASTLE is a symbol of Bled and Slovenia. First mentioned in written sources in 1011, it is the oldest castle in Slovenia. Bled Castle is situated on a steep cliff, 130 m above Lake Bled, a glacial lake. Word of the beauty of the town, the local area and the castle has been spread around the world by the many visitors. Today, the castle is an important venue for diplomatic, protocol and social meetings and a renowned tourist sight that attracts countless travellers from Slovenia and abroad.
